Quips and Quotes

I'm just a Texas girl.

Sunday, February 12

Well, quite a few things have happened in the last week, so I’ve made a list because I’m like that:

-I had some lowlights put in my hair on Thursday. Now the roots won’t show as much and my rich mock trial coach is going to take me to the salon she goes to for a graduation present to get my hair done soon.

-Mock Trial was amazing this weekend (and last weekend too)! We ended up getting second place in regional, so we’re moving on to state. I was a lawyer on both sides after all. I crossed what my coach said was the hardest witness she had seen in her 16 years coaching, and I think I controlled her fairly well. It’s still hard for me to be stern, though, and I need to work on that before state in March.

-I’ve been accepted to three schools now (TCU, ACU and OU). OU is offering me a scholarship and I’m competing for the Presidential at ACU. I won’t hear back from my top choices until after April 1st, so I have to keep my options open until then. I had an interview with a Vassar alum the other day too which was fun. I have officially sent off my Won By One video, and I have to wait on that too.

-I’m going to London and Switzerland for Spring Break! My grandmother takes all of her grandchildren on trips for 16th, 18th, and 21st birthdays and this will count as a late 16th and an early 18th. I just found out yesterday and I’m really excited. I’m going to fly out alone to meet my grandmother and my three cousins in London, and then my cousins are going to fly back a few days later. My grandmother and I will stay a little longer in London and then fly to Switzerland for some skiing. I haven’t been to Europe since seventh grade and I’ve never been to England, so I’m pumped! Grandmothers are amazing!

-School work is crazy right now. Being in 5 IB and 1 AP class was a good decision for college, but stupid considering the workload for senior year. Oh well, just a few months until it will be over forever. The only test I’m excited about is art, because I get to put up a show featuring all of the art I’ve done over the past two years.

-I’m definitely going to Honduras for the full time. I can’t wait!

I need to go work on revising my paper and watch Princes Bride. (Mom surprisingly has never seen it!) Hope everyone is doing well.
